Lenten Prayer Days:  "Journeying to Jesus"

Our 2011 Lenten Prayer Days will focus on our journey to Jesus in the context of the Lenten Season. As we prepare for the great feast of Easter during Lent, we need to remind ourselves to “... press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus,” as St. Paul says in Philippians 3:14.

Journeying to Jesus: Call and Invitation

We will reflect upon God’s call and invitation as it has been revealed in Scripture and the lives of the saints. We are free to respond or not to respond, but God is also free to continue inviting us to a deeper relationship.

  Bro. Bob Roddy, OFM Conv.

Wednesday, March 23
Journeying to Jesus: What Gets in the Way on the Way

What are some of the obstacles that we encounter in our journey of faith? Fear, misunderstanding of ourselves and others, unrealistic expectations or no expectations are among many of the pitfalls we encounter on our pilgrimage of faith.

Wednesday, March 30    Journeying to Jesus:
Waiting .... It's Not Just What You Do in the Doctor's Office

We spend much of our time waiting; waiting for appointments, waiting for a web page to load, waiting in line, we all know the drill. Waiting can be a source of frustration, or it can be an opportunity for us to catch our breath and take stock of our situation. Our lives of faith include a great deal of waiting, and enormous opportunities – and challenges – lie in those times.

Journeying to Jesus: Opening Ourselves to Jesus' Call

Sometimes we become so fixated on our perspective, our agendas, our “rightness,” our goals, and our good works, that we fail to hear the Lord calling us to something else. Is there some aspect of ourselves or others that we refuse to acknowledge and own?
