Men's Retreats

December 8-10, 2017

Ron Mrozinski - Men’s December retreat

    Prayer is a relationship!

It begins in the heart of one whose faith experiences God's love for

him and his need for God.  Like any relationship, it has its highs and lows, its feeling of closeness

and distance, its impassioned pleas and its dispassionate detachment.

Prayer is not piety, although one can be pious at prayer.  It is an engaging day to day living of

life in the awareness of the presence of a loving and caring God who thought only of us in giving

His Only Begotten Son to live among us, teaching us, and ultimately dying for us on the cross.

And then rising so that we may never worry about eternal life.

This retreat will explore:
1) The nature of our relationship with God
2) Prayer as the language
of that relationship

3) What if I don't want to pray or find myself not being able to pray
4) The means and the end
of prayer

Retreat conferences will be thirty minutes in length.

Ron Mrozinski is a priest of the Diocese of St. Georges in the island nation of Grenada, and a

former Conventual Franciscan Friar.  Imbued by the Friars with a deep sense of Franciscan

spirituality and love for the poor, he currently ministers with Cross Catholic Outreach in serving the needs of the poorest of the poor globally.  Trained academically by the Jesuits, he earned a BA and MA in Theology at St. Louis University and a Doctorate in Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.  Having served in various capacities as a college professor and administrator, he enjoys his current post in fundraising and caring for the poor.  View the Men's December Retreat brochure.

Our 2018 Theme: Towards a Spirituality of Joy: Love More-- Laugh More-- Be Not Afraid

“The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus. Those who accept

his offer of salvation are set free from sin, sorrow, inner emptiness and loneliness. With Christ,

joy is constantly born anew.” Pope Francis

With these words, Pope Francis opens his first major document, The Joy of the Gospel. Joy is

a quality that our Lord himself wishes to pass onto his disciples when he says, “I have told

you this that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.” John 15:11.  Read more

Besides the retreat conferences, prayer experiences and liturgies, enjoy open time for confession, rest or 'one on one' spiritual direction while enjoying the retreat center trails and Chef Judy's excellent 'on site' cooking.

Silent Retreats create a space where it's natural to look within while deepening your relationship with the Lord.

This is a Silent Retreat. Due to the nature of this retreat, we ask retreatants to refrain from talking to anyone except their confessor or spiritual director. We start silence after Friday evening's Night Prayer and end silence after the last conference on Sunday. View the Men's Retreats brochure.

Things our retreatants say:

-  The liturgies were inspirational and the homilies added more meaning.  I'm so impressed by how down-to-earth Father Jim and Brother Bob are as they relate to us

-  The time here has been healing. Truly my spirit gives thanks to our God for this time

-  The retreat conferences were excellent. So much food for thought and nourishment for the soul.  Lots to take into prayer and on my daily faith walk.

-  The blend of scheduled time to free time is just right. It allows me to reflect, refresh and recharge my soul to put a little bounce in my step!
